The Public Works Department is composed of ten employees-seven full-time and three part-time. Part-time employees are seasonal, working only during the summer season. These employees are responsible for 180+ city-owned streets and for maintaining an inventory listing the condition of each street.

The Public Works Department is the most varied of all the City Departments. Our many functions include street design, construction inspection and maintenance, pothole and street cut repairs, drainage design (construction or installation and maintenance), preparation and inspections for contracted major paving projects, sidewalk construction and replacement, public facilities maintenance and renovation, brush disposal, leaf collection, and street sweeping. The Public Works Department is also responsible for the City’s fleet operation, sign maintenance and design, and street markings.
