City of Kingston Announces Special Called Meeting and Public Hearing for FY 2026-2027 Budget

The City of Kingston will hold a Special Called Meeting and Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 6:00 PMin the Kingston City Council Chambers, located at 900 Waterford Place, Kingston, TN 37763.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comments from citizens regarding several ordinances related to the City’s budget, water and sewer fund, and property tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year.

Public Hearing Agenda

The Kingston City Council will hold a public hearing prior to the Special Called Meeting to receive comments from the public regarding the following ordinances:

Ordinance 2026-06-09-01

Second Reading

An ordinance amending the annual budget for the City of Kingston, Tennessee for fiscal year 2025-2026.

Ordinance 2026-06-09-02

Second Reading

An ordinance amending the annual budget for the City of Kingston Water/Sewer Fund for fiscal year 2025-2026.

Ordinance 2026-06-09-03

Second Reading

An ordinance adopting the annual General Fund operating budget and setting the property tax rate for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027.

Ordinance 2026-06-09-04

Second Reading

An ordinance adopting the annual Water/Sewer Fund operating budget and setting the rates and fees for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027.

Copies of the proposed ordinances are available for review in the City Manager’s Office at City Hall.


Public Notice: FY 2026-2027 Budget Information

In accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 6, Chapter 56, Section 206, the City of Kingston is providing financial information regarding the proposed fiscal year 2026-2027 budget.

A public hearing concerning the budget and the proposed certified tax rate of $0.8234 will be held at the Kingston City Hall Council Room on the second floor of City Hall, located at 900 Waterford Place, Kingston, TN, on June 30, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM.

All citizens are encouraged to attend and participate. The budget and all supporting data are public records and are available for inspection at City Hall.

Proposed Special Appropriation

As part of the budget ordinance adoption on June 30, 2026, the City proposes the following special appropriation:

  • Roane Alliance – $10,000

Following the public hearing, the Kingston City Council will conduct a Special Called Council Meeting for the second reading and consideration of the budget ordinance.
